Sri Lanka grants preliminary permission for Musk's Starlink.

On Thursday, Sri Lanka's president's office announced that Starlink, Elon Musk's SpaceX satellite business, has received preliminary approval to provide internet services.

Since Musk met with President Ranil Wickremesinghe at the 10th World Water Forum in Indonesia last month, Sri Lanka accelerated certification.
Sri Lanka's telecoms regulator granted preliminary clearance following a public consultation, according to a brief statement from the president's office.

Musk and Wickremesinghe discussed ways to increase internet connectivity in rural Sri Lanka, as well as potential collaboration on renewable energy, according to the president's office.
