Tesla is anticipated to spend $3 billion to $4 billion on Nvidia hardware this year.

Tesla will likely spend between $3 billion and $4 billion this year on hardware from chipmaker Nvidia, according to CEO Elon Musk in a post on X on Tuesday.

Musk also stated that around half of the $10 billion in AI-related capital investment this year would be spent internally.
"For building the AI training superclusters, NVidia (sic) hardware is about 2/3 of the cost," he stated on X.

Earlier on Tuesday, Tesla reportedly directed Nvidia to prioritize AI processor shipments to his firms X and xAI above the electric vehicle manufacturer.

The development also comes before a critical shareholder vote on his compensation package at Tesla.
Tesla repeated its capital expenditure prediction of more than $10 billion for this year in April and said it expected capex to be between $8 billion and $10 billion in the following years.
